Keep count of your ṣalawāt — for every blessing you send upon the Prophet ﷺ, Allah sends ten upon you.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever sends one blessing upon me, Allah sends ten blessings upon him.” (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 408) It is the one act of worship where the reward is stated as a multiple returned directly by Allah. He ﷺ also said: “The closest of people to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who send the most blessings upon me.” (Tirmidhī 484)
“Send abundant blessings upon me on Friday, for your blessings are shown to me.” (Abū Dāwūd 1047, Ibn Mājah 1085) Many keep Friday as a fixed day for a larger count for this reason. Ubayy ibn Kaʿb once asked the Prophet ﷺ how much of his duʿā he should devote to ṣalawāt; when he offered all of it, the Prophet ﷺ replied: “Then your worries will be taken care of and your sins forgiven.” (Tirmidhī 2457)
There is no obligatory number outside of prayer, where Durūd Ibrāhīm is recited in the final sitting. The counter above is set to 100, a figure many take as a daily habit. The short form at the top is enough on its own; the fuller Durūd Ibrāhīm is better where you have the time and attention for it.
