When to recite: After Fajr prayer until sunrise. Sit in your prayer place and recite these. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, then prays two rakʿahs — it is as if he performed Hajj and ʿUmrah." (Tirmidhī 586)
Allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa l-Ḥayyu l-Qayyūm. Lā taʾkhudhuhu sinatun wa lā nawm. Lahu mā fi s-samāwāti wa mā fi l-arḍ. Man dha lladhī yashfaʿu ʿindahu illā bi-idhnih. Yaʿlamu mā bayna aydīhim wa mā khalfahum. Wa lā yuḥīṭūna bi-shayʾin min ʿilmihi illā bi-mā shāʾ. Wasiʿa kursiyyuhu s-samāwāti wa l-arḍ. Wa lā yaʾūduhu ḥifẓuhumā. Wa huwa l-ʿAliyyu l-ʿAẓīm.
Allah — there is no god but He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation does not tire Him. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Quran 2:255
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites Āyat al-Kursī after every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death.” (an-Nasāʾī, authenticated by al-Albānī)
Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Qul huwa llāhu Aḥad. Allāhu ṣ-Ṣamad. Lam yalid wa lam yūlad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥad.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born. And there is none comparable to Him.
Quran 112:1–4
Recited 3× in the morning and evening, along with al-Falaq and an-Nās, these surahs suffice you against everything. (Abū Dāwūd 5082, Tirmidhī 3575)
Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbi l-falaq. Min sharri mā khalaq. Wa min sharri ghāsiqin idhā waqab. Wa min sharri n-naffāthāti fi l-ʿuqad. Wa min sharri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak. From the evil of that which He created. And from the evil of darkness when it settles. And from the evil of those who blow on knots. And from the evil of an envier when he envies.
Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Qul aʿūdhu bi-Rabbi n-nās. Maliki n-nās. Ilāhi n-nās. Min sharri l-waswāsi l-khannās. Alladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūri n-nās. Mina l-jinnati wa n-nās.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind. The King of mankind. The God of mankind. From the evil of the retreating whisperer. Who whispers in the breasts of mankind. From among the jinn and mankind.
Aṣbaḥnā wa aṣbaḥa l-mulku lillāh, wa l-ḥamdu lillāh, lā ilāha illa llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-ḥamdu wa huwa ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr. Rabbi asʾaluka khayra mā fī hādha l-yawmi wa khayra mā baʿdah, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā fī hādha l-yawmi wa sharri mā baʿdah. Rabbi aʿūdhu bika mina l-kasali wa sūʾi l-kibar. Rabbi aʿūdhu bika min ʿadhābin fi n-nāri wa ʿadhābin fi l-qabr.
We have reached the morning, and all dominion belongs to Allah. All praise is for Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things capable. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good of what comes after it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil of what comes after it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and the misery of old age. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.
Allāhumma mā aṣbaḥa bī min niʿmatin aw bi-aḥadin min khalqik, fa-minka waḥdaka lā sharīka lak, fa-laka l-ḥamdu wa laka sh-shukr.
O Allah, whatever blessing I or any of Your creation has received this morning is from You alone, without partner. So all praise is Yours and all thanks is Yours.

Whoever says this in the morning has fulfilled his gratitude for the day. (Abū Dāwūd 5073)

Testimony before Allah and the angels
Once in the morning (four times according to some narrations)
Allāhumma innī aṣbaḥtu ushhiduk, wa ushhidu ḥamalata ʿarshik, wa malāʾikatak, wa jamīʿa khalqik, annaka anta llāhu lā ilāha illā anta waḥdaka lā sharīka lak, wa anna Muḥammadan ʿabduka wa rasūluk.
O Allah, I have reached the morning and I call upon You, and upon the bearers of Your Throne, and upon Your angels, and upon all of Your creation to witness that You are Allah — there is no god but You alone, without partner — and that Muhammad is Your servant and messenger.
Abū Dāwūd 5069.
Whoever says this four times, Allah will free him from the Fire. (Abū Dāwūd 5069)
Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī badanī, Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī samʿī, Allāhumma ʿāfinī fī baṣarī, lā ilāha illā ant. Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina l-kufri, wa l-faqri, wa aʿūdhu bika min ʿadhābi l-qabr, lā ilāha illā ant.
O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. O Allah, grant me well-being in my hearing. O Allah, grant me well-being in my sight. There is no god but You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is no god but You.
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina l-hammi wa l-ḥazan, wa l-ʿajzi wa l-kasal, wa l-bukhli wa l-jubn, wa ḍalaʿi d-dayni wa ghalabati r-rijāl.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from helplessness and laziness, from miserliness and cowardice, and from the burden of debt and the oppression of men.
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6369 — narrated by Anas ibn Mālik.
Subḥāna llāhi wa bi-ḥamdih, ʿadada khalqih, wa riḍā nafsih, wa zinata ʿarshih, wa midāda kalimātih.
Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him — by the number of His creation, by His own pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His words.
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2726.
These four phrases outweigh hours of other dhikr. (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2726)
Allāhumma anta Rabbī, lā ilāha illā ant, khalaqtanī wa anā ʿabduk, wa anā ʿalā ʿahdika wa waʿdika ma staṭaʿt, aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣanaʿt, abūʾu laka bi-niʿmatika ʿalayy, wa abūʾu bi-dhanbī, faghfir lī, fa-innahu lā yaghfiru dh-dhunūba illā ant.
O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I hold to Your covenant and Your promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I acknowledge my sin. So forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6306.
Whoever says this with conviction in the morning and dies that day will be among the people of Paradise. (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6306)
