A path for everyone
The traveller's dua is answered. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Three supplications are answered without doubt: the supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveller, and the supplication of a parent for their child." (Tirmidhī 1905)
Dua 1

When leaving the house

Stepping out the door
Bismillāh, tawakkaltu ʿala llāh, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah.
Abū Dāwūd 5095.
Dua 2

When boarding any vehicle

Getting into a car, plane, train, or any transport
Bismillāh, al-ḥamdu lillāh. Subḥāna lladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn, wa innā ilā Rabbinā la-munqalibūn.
In the name of Allah. All praise is for Allah. Glory is to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could not have done it ourselves. And indeed, to our Lord we shall return.
Quran 43:13–14, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1342.
Dua 3

The full travel dua

After settling into the vehicle, at the start of the journey
Allāhu Akbar, Allāhu Akbar, Allāhu Akbar. Subḥāna lladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn, wa innā ilā Rabbinā la-munqalibūn. Allāhumma innā nasʾaluka fī safarinā hādha l-birra wa t-taqwā, wa mina l-ʿamali mā tarḍā. Allāhumma hawwin ʿalaynā safaranā hādhā waṭwi ʿannā buʿdah. Allāhumma anta ṣ-ṣāḥibu fi s-safar, wa l-khalīfatu fi l-ahl. Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min waʿthāʾi s-safar, wa kaʾābati l-manẓar, wa sūʾi l-munqalabi fi l-māli wa l-ahl.
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. Glory is to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could not have done it ourselves, and indeed to our Lord we shall return. O Allah, we ask You on this journey for righteousness and taqwā, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Guardian over the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from seeing distressing sights, and from returning to find misfortune in my wealth and family.
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1342.

Make this journey easy

At the start of a long trip

When arriving at your destination

Reaching a town, city, or any destination
Allāhumma Rabba s-samāwāti s-sabʿi wa mā aẓlaln, wa Rabba l-araḍīna s-sabʿi wa mā aqlaln, wa Rabba sh-shayāṭīni wa mā aḍlaln, wa Rabba r-riyāḥi wa mā dharayn, asʾaluka khayra hādhihi l-qaryati wa khayra ahlihā wa khayra mā fīhā, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharrihā wa sharri ahlihā wa sharri mā fīhā.
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and all that they shade, Lord of the seven earths and all that they carry, Lord of the devils and all that they lead astray, Lord of the winds and all that they scatter — I ask You for the good of this town and the good of its people and the good of what is in it, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of its people and the evil of what is in it.
